Matthew Carr Establishes the First Augustinian Mission in the United States - Philadelphia, PA - April 14, 1796.

The mosaic above hangs in St. Mary's Hall on the campus of Villanova University.  The theme is taken from the cover of a book by Father Arthur Ennis, O.S.A. on the history of the Irish Augustinians in Philadelphia. It depicts the Augustinian Pastor of Old Saint Augustine's Chruch meeting with George Washingtion and several prominent Philadelphians.
